Chief Executive Officer

Jorge Salas Orta

Senior executive with 24 years of experience in the international water sector with extensive track record in different positions. He is a leading expert in generating added value through the entire chain: Engineering, EPC Management and O&M based on unique skilled experience in past projects having worked in different positions in technical and managerial roles. He is considered an international expert in Desalination and has been member of the main national and international water associations.

Senior executive with 24 years of experience in the international water sector with extensive track record in different positions. He is a leading expert in generating added value through the entire chain: Engineering, EPC Management and O&M based on unique skilled experience in past projects having worked in different positions in technical and managerial roles.
He is a well-known and reputed professional by all stakeholders of water sector and particularly considered an international expert in Desalination. He has been member of the main national and international water associations as IWA, IDA and Aedyr (Board member from 2006 to 2010) with multitude of research projects, courses, congress, conferences, and publications in the water sector.
His career has been focused to large international engineering and construction projects, either under BOT or EPC schemes. A very sound business background acquired thanks to the different positions he has held in the business, from Project Director in at-the-time largest desalination plant in Europe (Carboneras), to Desalination and Technical Director of one of the worldwide leading companies in the sector, or in positions related to business development in the last 10 years.
Former VP Business Development and Deputy Managing Director Abengoa Agua, responsible for the company's Global Expansion and some of the world's largest Desalination plants, including multiple projects in the GCC, Asia, the Americas and Europe, leading references in the desalination sector worldwide.
Mr. Jorge Salas holds a degree in Industrial Engineering from Seville University, Spain, Postgraduate Studies on Environmental Engineering in University of Michigan (USA) and Civil and Mechanical Engineering Courses in Newcastle upon Tyne University (United Kingdom).

Luis Hereza Díaz

Senior EPC Project Management Executive with more than 20 years of international experience within water and environment sector, including multiple projects in MENA region, leading and challenge references in the water sector worldwide. He has held different high-level positions, as EPC Director for Water Division, leading EPC (Engineering-Procurement- Construction) water treatment and desalination projects.

He has been working in the water sector for more than 20 years starting to work in construction sites and acquiring an incomparable knowledge about project management and all its ramifications: cost control, quality, schedule, engineering, construction, and commissioning. He has been involved in multitude of projects in Middle East (KSA, UAE and Oman) but also in Africa and Europe.
Former Director of Operations / Executive EPC Manager in Abengoa Agua being responsible of the construction unit of the company, with total value exceeding 1 billion USD backlog, leading the team through some of the world's largest Desalination plants, including multiple projects in MENA region, leading references in the desalination sector worldwide.
With solid fundamentals and know-how based on experience in past projects, gives him a privileged perspective granting highest performance through the entire project life cycle spectrum.
Mr. Luis Hereza holds a Master in Civil Engineer (Ingeniero de Caminos, Canales y Puertos) in Polytechnic University of Madrid (Spain) and Master on Project Manager Direction (PDA) Loyola University (Spain)

Chief Technical Officer

Javier López Sánchez

Senior Engineering Executive Manager with more than 25 years of experience in the water sector. He has been the Engineering Director of some the largest SWRO desalination plants of the world, with extended track-record and international background. He has participated in projects in several countries, such as Saudi Arabia, Oman, UAE, Argelia, Ghana, China, Morocco, Sri Lanka, India or Spain.

Senior Engineering Executive Manager with more than 25 years of experience in the water sector. He has been the Engineering Director of some the largest RO desalination plants of the world, with extended track-record and international background. He has participated in projects in several countries, such as Saudi Arabia, Oman, UAE, Argelia, Ghana, China, Morocco, Sri Lanka, India or Spain.
Former Engineering Director in Abengoa Agua, leading a team with more than 120 engineers of different technical areas. He has participated in construction, commissioning and operation, leading engineering team to focus in practical and reliable designs within economical and time restrictions.
He started his career in water business in Veolia 25 years ago. In 2008 he joined Abengoa where he was appointed as Technical Director for the Water Division until he joined IWAC as Chief Technical Director in 2021.
Javier holds an Industrial Engineering Degree by ICAI, a Master Degree in Water Treatment, a Master Degree in Renewables Energy and an Executive MBA by EOI.

Juan Ramón Ruiz Salmón

Senior Commissioning and O&M Manager with more than 21 years of experience in water sector. He has been involved in most prestigious Complex & Large SWRO projects in Middle East in the past years, with a deep knowledge in design and operational criteria in terms of performance, reliability, optimization design and energy efficiency.

With a Best in Class approach to on-site inspections, review of systems and processes based on an extended track record in process engineering design and in commissioning, start up and operation and maintenance of desalination plants. He has worked world-wide, Spain, Middle East, Morocco and in most countries in Latin America.
Juan Ramon has held senior positions as O&M and Commissioning Manager in most prestigious water projects in Acciona and Abengoa Agua in the past years.
Mr. Juan Ramon Ruiz holds a Bachelor in maintenance and production management, Postgraduate courses in Industrial Automation and in Industrial Maintenance.
